Anonymous writes "Positech Games, Independent Games developers from the UK are pleased to announce the retail release of their strategy/simulation game Starship Tycoon. Starship Tycoon puts you in charge of a futuristic space shipping company, designing and modifying your own starships to carry passengers and cargo (including smuggled cargo) between the stars. The game draws on influences such as Elite, Rollercoaster Tycoon, Sim City and The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy.
Starship Tycoon has been on sale for a while online directly from the developer at www.starshiptycoon.com, but will soon be in stores in North America, published by Take 2 Interactive Software Inc (www.take2games.com) and in Russia, published by Akella.
Starship Tycoon was originally started in 1997, then called StarLines INC. Over the years the game has gone through numerous updates and improvements, including its name change, and now boasts mission and freeform modes as well as random maps for unlimited replay value.
