Ok so you think you’ve got what it takes to be a one man army? You think going in guns blazing is the answer to the worlds problems? Well then your ready for Ice Ice Revolution from Webforce Creations. But be for warned the first time you strap that M16A2 over your shoulder and run blindly into the night thinking bodies will just fall to the ground in sequential order you’ll be dead before you can say Rambo. This is an action game with a look before you leap mentality. Strategic planning is almost a must.

You play one of six different characters as you fight against an evil terrorist army through six different missions and one tutorial mission. What could these terrorist possibly be doing to incur your wrath? Nuclear weapons. It seems that these Cretans have gotten hold of a couple of nukes and are transporting them to the north pole. Where else would you send weapons of mass destruction?

The storyline is well thought out and is actually pretty interesting however the storyline mode is short. With only six missions I felt like I did not get enough of the back story especially when it comes to the different characters you play. If a sequel is ever to be released there is definitely room to flush the story out more and tell me what it is im dying (multiple times) For. More missions would have also been a definite plus that would have made this game a much more enjoyable experience.

The seven missions you do have include a tutorial mission, three missions on a transport ship, and three missions in the north pole. The tutorial mission is very short but necessary to get you used to the controls. The last mission in each area is basically a boss battle so for instance you spend two missions traveling to the boss and one fighting him.

The six characters you get to play include a grunt, assassin, sniper, ninja, blaster, and a gunman. I know it sounds like a good selection of skills and experience to pool from but I found that the grunt, blaster, assassin and gunmen characters were basically the same. Aim shoot kill. However you can shift the screen a little in assassin mode which is supposed to simulate the amazing abilities that assassins posses to look around the corner but in the end you still just aim and shoot to vanquish your opponent.

The control scheme probably is a little different than you are used to and it might be just a little disorientating at first but once you get used to it its actually quite easy. The only real gripe I have is when you’re a ninja. So the objective is to use your ninja cat like reflexes to click on your target and release your devastating Katana blade through you opponents flesh and bone. Cool. However as soon as I even started to unleash my ferocious attack on my opponent he would just shoot me and I would do my best impersonation of Richard Grieco’s career and fall flat on my face dead. Not cool. OK OK so mastering the mystic arts of the ninjista probably should be difficult but still dying so many times I found myself just wishing for a shotgun. On the flip side Web Creations managed to pull off something I did not consider as feasible. They successfully put together a working 2D sniper mode. Web Creations was able to mix just the right amount of difficulty to make this mode fun but not too easy.

The A.I. was sophisticated enough to provide challenging game play and the computer opponents angered me enough to tract them down and slaughter each and every one of them. On a lighter note I never noticed the computer doing anything stupid like ignoring me as I walked up on them. I did notice that the computer would react to both sight and sound meaning if you fire your weapon the computer will come after you even if they cant see you at first.

Single player/practice mode is just that. Practice. After you have a feel for the controls of the game and you blow up a couple of bad guys with each of the six characters there is really no need for this mode but I guess a little practice never hurt anyone especially for the ninja character. JUDO CHOP !!

Multi player mode. The highlight of any game is being able to blow away your buddy after he fails to acknowledge your vastly superior gaming skill and knowledge. This game (and my buddy) did not let me down in that respect.

Graphics: 5
The graphics were definitely not the highlight of this game and on occasion it made it difficult to see whether I was picking up an M.R.E. (health item) or extra ammo. The engine is basically top down 2D with the occasional pictorial cut scene.

Sound: 6
All together the sound was average with a descent music loop and sound effects that had their moments even though the bird chirping in the tutorial did get annoying quickly.

Game Play: 8
once you get used to the controls you wont have too much trouble. I believe Web Creations did a good job in this area of the game.

Options: 6
Having multi player was a make or break for this game. In the story mode you where usually forced to play with the character the story chose for you but there was a good difficulty selection system.

Concept: 6
The concept of course has been done before.

Fun: 6
It was fun for awhile but I was not really left with a huge desire to go back to the game.

Overall: 6
An ok game that had its moments although few I did enjoy the multi player mode and the story mode left me wondering what was really going on. I can only recommend this game if your looking for a quick action game with a little strategic twist.
